The Bob Kurz Collection forms a portion of the Cradle of Coaches Archive and includes manuscripts, news clippings, publications, photographs, and other materials pertaining to the Cradle of Coaches.

This collection is from the personal files of Bob Kurz, Miami University alumnus (’58), former sports information director at Miami University (1958-1965); Cradle of Coaches member; author of Miami of Ohio: The Cradle of Coaches; and originator of the nickname, “Cradle of Coaches.”

Items in this collection include: Correspondence regarding Kurz’s resignation from Miami University; Miscellaneous news clippings about the Cradle of Coaches; Correspondence between Kurz and other Cradle members; Manuscripts pertaining to the publication of Kurz’s book; Collection of Weeb Ewbank memorabilia; Other Miami publications; Autographed books; and Miscellaneous photographs.

Of special note are original letters from Paul Dietzel, John Pont, and Earl Blaik; correspondence from numerous publication houses on the occasion of Kurz’s resignation from Miami University; and a small collection of photographs of Weeb Ewbank with memorabilia from his days at the Great Lakes Naval Academy. Also included are two books inscribed to Bob Kurz by Weeb Ewbank, one book inscribed to Bob Kurz by Paul Brown, plus one signed copy of Miami of Ohio: Cradle of Coaches by Bob Kurz.
